Touchy Subject
Homosexuals. No reason to keep you waiting. As a Catholic I do not agree with it - I think it is wrong. As an American, is it the government's responsibility to regulate it? I'm not quite sure. They can regulate gay marriage at the state level but they cannot interfere with one's personal choice. However, the argument that homosexuals are born that way and should be allowed to live that way is hilarious. Riddle me this: should a child born with two heads be left that way because he/she was born that way? What about an infant born addicted to methanphetamine? How about a child born with cancer? Should we leave them be because they were born that way? Doesn't seem right to me. If one chooses to live that lifestyle then that is perfectly fine by me - you have my prayers. However, if you want to argue that someone is born that way, as a moral society it is our responsibility to assist them. I do not think this is the government's job but rather our job as Americans. I will touch on this subject more but I wanted to write a little more before I board my plane to Charlotte.
Headed to Florida
I write this post as I wait patiently for my flight from Indianapolis to Charlotte and then on to Tampa for a few days. On my way to the airport I heard a "political analyst" criticisizing Mitt Romney and his somewhat vast wealth. Really? The man struck it rich through capitalism. Did he move some investments overseas? Yes, he is smart investor! Why leave your investment somewhere so heavily regulated and taxed that it is not worth the trouble. Mitt, do not apologize for being smarter than the average Joe. With this type of experience, I see Mitt as soemone who will enter office with an agenda to make these United States more attractive to investors than any other country. As of now, we are not the most attrctive option so please do not critique investors who wish to turn a profit on their investment. Now, in regards to this issue, had Mr. Obama made the US of A a more attractive investment location, he would have my support on this issue. The reality is he has not made it more attractive. Increasing taxes above the current level will not bring companies or investments here! Why would a country move from one location to another only to pay higher taxes? My solution? Hopefully it comes across to you as simple as it is in my head right now: incentivize companies to relocate and invest in these United States by offering tax relief if they invest here now. For example: if Chevrolet decided it wanted to move its truck assembly plant in Mexico to Arizona, the government should give Chevy a huge tax break in return for this investment. If Chevy agreed to keep the plant open for 20 years, waive the taxes on the plant for 10 years; simply half the time they agree to stay - no exceptions. If Mitt Romney would rather hold his money in an American bank, that bank should be eager to work with Mitt to get him to keep his money here. If we do not make ourselves marketable, do not be surprised or upset when investors invest elsewhere! In conclusion, Mr. Obama is rather quick to criticize Romney's immense wealth while remaining silent over the wealth of his supporters. Mr. Obama, what do you have to say about Warren Buffett - the WORLD'S RICHEST MAN?
What to Expect
Since my sophomore year of college I have been very interested in politics, law, government, and anything related that would put most people to sleep. I tend to rant about relevant political issues and I do have strong right tendencies. I do not call myself a Republican - I am an American. I want what is best for this country; not a certain race, gender, religion...whatever. I am also not a fan of talking about race...I find someone's skin color as equally relevant as someones hair color, eye color, and hair line. Your're born that way, folks. Finally, I would be surprised if I ever talk about sports as I am really not a fan of any team.
New to This...
This is something I hope to use on occasion when I feel the need to vent over current political situations. Many do not agree with my positions but that is to be expected today. Also, my grammer ain't no good so please refrain from highlighting simple grammatical mistakes - commas are my enemy. Lastly, please leave me feedback or email me and I promise to read anything that comes my way (thank you, iPhone).
